Award Winners

Oxford Youth Gamelan performed at the National Festival of Music for Youth in Birmingham on Thursday 9 July. They were given an Innovation Achievement award in the World, Folk and Roots category. In their short 10 minute set they played three pieces: Ladrang Sumedhang, their own composition La Bambang, and their arrangement of Nartosabdho’s Lancaran Serayu which they transformed into a boppy dangdut with added saxophones.
