Yes! There are many opportunities to play gamelan in Oxford, from a one-off session to weekly groups and classes. Follow the links below or in the menu to find the right one for you!

Hands-on gamelan sessions for children and young people in Oxford

Oxford Gamelan Club: for children and young people aged 7-14 – weekly sessions on Thursdays in Headington.

Oxford Youth Gamelan: for more experienced players aged 11-18.

Schools’ workshops: introductory workshops for school groups are available at the Bate Collection of Musical Instruments, Faculty of Music, St Aldates.

Family taster sessions for all at the Bate Collection Family Fun Days.

St Andrew’s Gamelan Club: Lunchtime club open to Y4-6 pupils at St Andrew’s C of E Primary School, Oxford.
